Positive: The cabin was recently renovated with new floors, new furniture (the beds and bedding are very comfortable and nice quality), new kitchen counter and chairs. The TV gets internet to provide many channels via internet like CNN and Netflix and you tube, but for some reason I couldn't figure out, there is no internet wifi at all avaliable in the cabin. If the TV uses internet, why can't they provide internet in the cabin too? That doesn't seem logical. There is a nice glass porch with screens, but the glass was not renovated with the rest of the cabin and it looks pretty run down and old with cracked panes and really old putty along each pane. They should have put in all new glass on the porch when they did the renovation to match the updated walls in the rest of the cabin. The toilet was really too low and wasn't new and for my 92 year old mother, she couldn't get on it or off it without my help. She hated that toilet. It made her really upset. It was really far too low for anyone and too small in its size in general. The size of the opening was a joke and we are both very thin. They need to replace the toilet and put a rail on the wall next to it to make it easier for older people to access. Also the wall to the left of the sink in the bathroom was not masked properly with masking tape when painted, so there is green paint on the white tile along the corner edge. That was a real rookie mistake and looks shoddy, like the painter was in a hurry and didn't care or was drunk perhaps when he was painting it. The fridge is new and so is the microwave and dishes and utensils. They need a toaster though. The location is lovely of course in a serene location on a lovely lake in the northern woods. Overall it was worth it but the check out time was way too early. Most check out times at most hotels and airbnbs are 11am, and we had to negotiate just to get a 10:30 check out time.
