Just 50 minutes north of Sydney on the M1 is a little Hawkesbury River town on the train line called Brooklyn. If you jump on a water taxi from Brooklyn and go up river 25 minutes you’ll come to a gorgeous river community - Bar Point. You might have spotted the river communities if you’ve ever crossed the Hawkesbury River on the Brooklyn Bridge.
Our little Hawkesbury River Hideout is at Bar Point. Surrounded by National park and only 100 meters back from the river with private jetty to taxi in and out from.
There are no shops or cars at Bar Point. This is a truly tranquil get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
With native wildlife, native bush and sandstone boulders at your doorstep and a cosy little river shack to provide you with basic essentials to make your stay completely comfortable and relaxing.
We are artists and musicians so have furnished the house with a warming eclectic feel that is reflective of a life lived in a much simpler way in the past. A bohemian flashback!
Grab some oysters and wine and cheese from Brooklyn before hopping on the water taxi and prepare to unwind. Stroll around Bar Point or take a longer nature walk to the beautiful fresh water swimming hole with mud maps provided at the property.
Or just stay at the shack and read, play the in house guitar or play board games. We do have TV and wi-fi if you must! ;)
The bathroom and toilet is outside up a wonderful set of stairs carved into the giant sandstone boulder. There is also a toilet in the house.
