A rustic, charming and character filled house, built in 1927 as the original Balnarring farmhouse. Despite this old-world allure it has every modern convenience, from pool to table tennis pavilion to the best equipped kitchen and is the perfect destination for family groups, with three separate sleeping wings. The beach is only metres away down a private path and the enormous verandah has spectacular views of Westernport Bay and Balnarring Beach.
It has hydronic heating in all rooms, air conditioning in the upstairs area and fans in the lower rooms. There are large fire places in the lounge and dining rooms. The kitchen is a large farm style with granite bench-tops and the latest appliances, including a Nespresso coffee machine.
The swimming pool is heated and 1.8m to 1m in depth, with a shade sail in summer. Please note that while the pool is heated from November to March, the temperature of the water is affected by the weather. If it's cold overnight, the pool will cool down and take longer to warm up.
Alongside the pool is a large grass strip perfect for cricket and soccer games.
The house has its own private path to the beach. The beach is very safe and ideal for young children. 300 metres around the corner, Merricks offers good surfing and Point Leo (10 min drive) is rated the safest of the top ten surf beaches in Victoria. Balnarring Beach has won the "cleanest beach" in Victoria many times. It has a combination of rocks (ideal for fish and snorkelling) and safe swimming. Western Port Bay is a large tidal bay in southern Victoria, opening into Bass Strait. It is the second largest bay in Victoria.
Palmers Hill is the perfect location for family gatherings. UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO HOST WEDDINGS, PARTIES OR GATHERINGS WHERE THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE THAN THOSE LISTED ON THE BOOKING.
All guests are asked to be considerate of our neighbours and noise and music must be kept to a minimum in the evening.
Please note that The Mornington Peninsula Shire has a Code of Conduct for short stay rentals. This includes a ban on aggressive behaviour, which includes yelling screaming, arguing, cheering, etc. In addition to this all cars at the property must stay within the property boundary. Outdoor areas including swimming pools, spas, outdoor decking and balconies are
