When the urge strikes to be in the ocean, grab a towel and drive five minutes over to Hyams Beach—one of the most popular coastlines in Jervis Bay with the whitest sand—for a long morning of swimming and sunbaking.
Rinse off the sand in the heated outdoor shower or either of two indoor bathrooms (the ensuite has a dual showerhead!) and stay inside comfortably in any kind of weather with air conditioning and a fireplace in the living room and relax in front of the TV with Netflix and DVDs at your fingertips. The backyard has enough room for a game of catch with your four-legged friends, and you can take a cosy nap in the shade on the outdoor lounges, or the hidden bench down the end of the garden is the perfect spot for a quiet read.
When mealtimes come around, cook up a storm on the BBQ and dine inside in the light-filled bohemian interior or out on the deck with your tunes on the Bluetooth speaker, encircled by tropical trees that mirror the palm trees out the front in your own private oasis.
Once you’re fed and rested, it’s time to see the sights; the entire area is beautiful and has plenty of walking tracks, and another beach every ten minutes as you walk around the basin. If there’s a fisher in the family, take the poles out to the jetty just down the road that enters Worrowing Waterway, or just dangle your feet in the water and resist the urge to push each other off!
