Summary: Well it started out great! I walked in and the lobby was nice, it smelled great! There were a few weird rules that I had to agree too but nothing too crazy. Every rule has a reason so I figured they might have dealt with unruly customers in the past so they had to be very specific on paper. I booked a king bed room and when I checked in they put me in a double queen. When I asked if it was a mistake they dismissed it and said it was and upgrade because I got moved to a "renovated" room. I agreed, accepting the upgrade and headed towards my room. Immediately after the lobby/gift shop area, the atmosphere changed. The carpets were dirty, the lighting was creepy and the pleasant smell was replaced by one of old furniture. The "renovated" room was worse. There were paint splatters and stains on every surface and the beds consisted of a mattress, still in the shipping plastic, on top of makeshift plywood bed frames painted black with a single sheet on the bed. There were no sign of bugs and was relatively clean aside from the terrible remodel job. The water pressure and heat were great which can be rare in cheap hotels. All in all you get what you pay for and this was the cheapest hotel on the list.
