Surrounded by the spectacular Grampians National Park, in Victoria Australia. It is 2.4 kms from the Halls Gap town centre and there is a beautiful accessible path in front of Shady Gums that takes you to the village centre.
The house is set in amongst Eucalypt trees and has its own seasonal creek flowing through the property. The creek is visible from the main living area of Shady Gums. From the rear deck there is a footbridge over the creek to a private firepit.
Wildlife abound. There are Kangaroos, wallabies, emu, echidna, possums, and deer as well as the dozens of beautiful native birds that visit our bird bath and feeder. These are clearly visible from the bay window.
The Grampians is a great place to visit all year around. In winter spend time in front of the cosy wood fire and outdoor campfire. In spring the place is alive with wildflowers and fresh flowing creeks. In autumn the days are perfect and the nights fresh, great for walking and in summer there is are water based activities like fishing, canoeing, sailing, on the lakes and swimming in the town pool to be enjoyed.
Shady Gums has all the modern features that you would need including – full kitchen facilities, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, free wifi (limited) and laundry facilities. The large open plan kitchen/living area overlooks the creek and is heated by a slow combustion wood heater. It Also has a reverse cycle Air conditioner for cooling in summer.
