Complete peace and quiet in the fresh air of the mountains, surrounded by the forest and views over the Hunter Valley.
Our 3 bedroom eco-cabin is close to the world heritage listed rainforests of the Barrington Wilderness and Mount Royal National Park. It is 45 minutes north of Singleton, and an hour from the edge of the Hunter vineyard areas.
Enjoy mountain, cloud and sunset views 70 km across the Hunter Valley. Watch kangaroos and listen to the birds - we are surrounded by native wildlife. Take an easy stroll or challenge yourself with a harder bushwalk on a nearby mountain with spectacular views. Take your mountain bike for a 30km adventure. Or simply sit on the veranda and do nothing!
There is no TV or wifi to distract you from the peace and quiet outside, and you can create delicious meals on the wood fired stove/oven in the self contained kitchen. There is no microwave or coffee machine in the kitchen, or airconditioning; the cabin runs on 100% solar energy! (Please don't bring electrical appliances with you, as they won't be compatible with our off-grid solar power system).
The living/dining area has a wood fire for cosy winter evenings, and a sunny outlook. The 3 bedrooms are small and can sleep up to 9 people. There is a simple bathroom with a flush toilet and shower. The bedrooms and bathroom are separated from the kitchen/living/dining area by a short covered walkway.
We have a cosy campfire area next to the cabin, which can be used subject to any local fire restrictions.
Guests need to bring their own bedding (ie sheets, pillowcases, doonas/blankets & towels) or can be provided at an extra cost if required. Hot water bottles, extra blankets and kitchen linen are provided free of charge.
We also have a separate simple 10-bed bunkhouse and a large bush camping area set up specially for groups - this is 800m away from the cabin, through the forest.
