Dune Shack is nestled metres from the shore of White Beach, an expansive and sheltered bay with stunning views across Storm Bay to Bruny Island and the South West Wilderness.
Built in 1970, Dune Shack has been curated to offer luxe comforts whilst maintaining the 70s shack charm.
An ideal base to access some of Tasmania’s iconic bush walks and beaches, the shack is also a short drive to Port Arthur Historic Site, Three Capes Walk, Tasman Island Pennicott Cruise & McHenry Distillery.
Positioned on a large parcel of flat ground scattered with eucalypt trees, the property has private access to 5.5kms of pristine beach - living up its name.
Open plan living, dining and a newly renovated and well equipped kitchen where you will find a well stocked pantry with all the essentials plus a few little luxuries including Love Tea and marshmallows - for toasting on the fire or popping in your lavender hot chocolate.
The area is heated by a beautiful Nectre fireplace as well as heat pump.
Two large bedrooms both with queen beds also offer reading spaces in front of the window looking out to the garden.
A newly renovated bathroom offers a walk in shower, and in the warmer months you have the option of the outdoor shower to rinse off following a day at the beach.
We proudly supply locally made Milie Organics body products in our bathroom for guest use.
From the deck, where you will find a Webber Q, step down to the firepit area which offers the perfect spot to relax of an evening and reflect on the day with your favourite drink in hand.
On site you will find a picnic set with blanket for days or evenings at the beach and two yoga mats in case you feel up to a little stretch out in the garden or at the beach.
Apart from a small studio, guests have access to the entire property.
Please note that there is no fence between the garden and dune/ beach.
Children and infants are very welcome at our shack but we do not supply cots or high chairs, if travelling with little ones please bring these items with you.
We love to cater to pets but please note that there is no fence between the garden and the beach. Please also pick up after your pets. Doggy bags provided.
During the summer months (1st December - 31st March) dogs must be on leash between 10am - 4pm. Outside of these times dogs are allowed off leash but must be under effective control.
Being a seaside town, the shack is on tank water - we please ask guests to be mindful of water usage and ensure taps are turned off when not in use.
