Summary: The castles hosts, Shan and Donald are exceptional, Shans communication before arrival ensured our requests and preferences were well catered to, we felt like we were visiting friends. Donald maintains his gardens beautifully and encourages guests to explore and enjoy the grounds. We arrived to a delicious afternoon tea, homemade cake thoughtfully prepared to my gluten free preference. Guest rooms are very well appointed, with luxurious gowns and amenities. The Tower room has a library, writing area and beautiful lounge chairs to relax in, the view from the Juliette balcony is stunning! Everything is spotlessly clean, the antiques and curios lovingly restored and collected. My large bed was super comfortable with good pillows and linen. If you’re looking for country peace and quiet, this is perfect, but still only 15 minutes to the beach. Shans breakfast is delicious and healthy, eggs laid that day and vegies and herbs straight from their garden, avocado from the adjoining neighbor. The Castle welcomes strangers and farewells friends.
