Positive: We had 2 days to explore Papeete after disembarking from a cruise. Based on reviews, we booked Poi Matie cosy Studio and so happy we did so. From all our exchanges, mainly through What's App, with our host through to when leaving they could not have been kinder and more accommodating. I had messaged asking about somewhere to leave our luggage (had to be off our cruise ship by 9.00am), Apollonia kindly let us drop our luggage off at the studio while she was cleaning from the last guests. She also arranged a taxi for our early morning departure. The studio itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, but the outside area was our favourite spot. We loved sitting outside on the balcony for an early morning coffee but especially at night enjoying a drink. Some friends visited while we were there and were very jealous of our accommodation compared to theirs!! The studio is in an excellent location about a kilometre from the city centre but a lovely east stroll along the waterfront through Paofai Park. The park also has a range of restaurants close to the studio and there is also a Champion Supermarket about 400m away.

Negative: The bed is located on a slightly raised platform accessed by a step. As we are in our 70's, we had concerns about remembering this during any bathroom needs through the night. Easy fix for us was leaving one of the bedside lamps on and placing it on the floor near the step at night. Simple fix that gave us peace of mind. This would not stop us from staying here again
