Summary: Far away from Shibuya, we traveled over 3 hours via public transportation to get here. We arrived at night, and it was a nice adventure with family. My family really enjoyed the stay as it was immersive. There was a lot of detail to dinner and breakfast. We only stayed for 1 night for the morning prayer, which was an experience in itself. I enjoyed the long staircase which I didn’t get the chance to run up and be sore for the whole trip. There’s a lot to do here in terms of activity, and the staff is quite impressive being fluent in English. The price was a bit much for me, but with everything considered, it was worth it as it put a smile on my family face. I was in a land that I was not familiar with, but my experience was met with welcoming arms. My father bowed his head as he left out of respect.

Summary: This ryokan is beautiful and set in a gorgeous area of kakurinbo. It was a trek to get to on foot but it is on Mt. Minobu. A beautiful walk during the day and so much to see. The staff was so helpful with everything and the kaiseki meal is a must experience.

The staff are super friendly and helpful, the food is authentic and delicious, and exploring the mountains and small town around the area was a delight.
